Using both Western and Chinese methods of evaluation we will come up with a treatment protocol specifically for you. We will look at a variety of variables during the inquiry and observation that may include discussion of the onset of the disorder, diet and lifestyle.
Chinese Medicine looks at the whole person for total health. Chinese medicine is known to be effective for men and women’s health, HIV, strength and conditioning, chronic and acute pain, allergies, anxiety and depression, insomnia, headaches and so much more. I look forward to working with you in your journey into body balance.
Herbal formulas can be a fantastic way to assist you in your health. After an herbal consult I will be able to prescribe a formula that is best for you. Typically, Chinese herbs are taken three times per day for a week or longer to achieve the desired affect on the body. Compliance is key as the herbs, like many western pharmaceuticals need to build up in your body to work best. Formulas can be taken in a capsule form, as a granular, a tincture or as raw herbs you cook at home. Capsules are the most commonly used form.
The herbs I use come from a very reliable source that utilizes very strict guideless for purity and are devoid of harmful chemicals and pesticides.
* Few medications are incompatible with Chinese Herbs. It is important to tell your practitioner of all medications you are on, so they may determine if Chinese herbs are right for you.
I have been a Licensed Massage therapist since 1997. In that time I have worked with Professional Athletes, dancers from the New York City Ballet and people who live and work hard in New York. I have worked on people from Montauk to Manhattan and from the east coast to the west coast. I utilize a wide range of dynamic techniques for the most effective massage possible, adjusting for your comfort level and desired pressure. My work is clinic based and therapeutic. The best massage comes from providing a great place to relax and shift into balanced ease.
I started working as a hypnotherapist in 1992 at The Jacob Perlow Hospice located in Beth Israel Hospital. There I offered patients hypnosis sessions for pain management, stress reduction, ease of sleep. At the time I also acted as bereavement counselor to family and friends of the patient. I studied Ericksonian Hypnosis in New York at The New York Training Institute for NLP. Today, I offer sessions for my patients who are looking to release the hold of addiction, weight loss, motivation, letting go of old patterns of behavior, pain management and to open up to a more fulfilling life. Each session is about one hour.
The intentional breath is the transcendent breath. We move emotional energy with breath and with guided intention we can release old emotional stories that no longer sever us or we can draw in deeply supportive energy that feeds our spirit. The word “breath” and “spirit” hold the same meaning in many languages –the Latin: spiritus, the greek: phevma, the Hindi: aatma/prana and the word respiration literally means to re-spirit the self. Breath-work allows you to recalibrate your breath, to heal old stories or to charge future events to be powerful and dynamic (re)aligning with our central nervous system. The upper chest breath engages with the sympathetic nervous system releasing cortisol into the body. The lower breath, when you allow your belly to be relaxed and move out as you inhale, engages with the parasympathetic nervous system releasing serotonin, epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine. learning proper techniques in Breath-work, in whatever form that interests you, is good and important to bring into your life practice.
I began teaching classes and workshops as well as leading one on one sessions since 1992. Currently, I offer breathwork to my private clients in my clinic as well as teaching in a detox center here in the desert. Breathwork can be a very powerful experience. The biodynamic breath allows and directs the energy of the breath to release trama and/or allow you to tap into a deeper awakening of the self. Each ninety minute session -we will discuss your intention and ideas of what may be holding you back from greater success and dynamic wellness. I facilitate the experience by leading you into what is commonly known as re-birthing breathwork, conscious breath or holotropic breathwork. The technique goes by many names.
The session is experienced while you lay down on a floor mat with your eyes covered. After this process my clients have described a deep awakening of the self and an experience that has allowed them to heal deeply from old emotional wounds. At the end of each session there is time to discuss your experience and link up with your original intention. We will set aside 90 minutes for this session -the experience may run under or over time. Breathwork sessions are available on Sundays only at this time.
